Strictly necessary — always on

Without these the site does not work. No consent is asked for them, because they do nothing but deliver what you requested. They do not identify you and are not used for advertising.

• XSRF-TOKEN — a security cookie that prevents forms in the administration area being misused. Lasts up to two hours.
• saiorg_consent — remembers the choice you made on this page, so you are not asked on every visit. It holds only the policy version, two yes/no flags, a random record marker and a date. Lasts six months.

Analytics — only with your permission

We currently use no analytics tool, and no such cookie is set. The category exists so that if we ever introduce one, it works only with your permission from the first day. If that happens, the cookies will be listed here.

Embedded video — only with your permission

Some articles contain video from YouTube and Vimeo. Until you allow it, none of it loads: a play button stands in its place, with a note naming the site the content would come from.

When you allow embedded video — or click one video to play it — your browser connects to YouTube or Vimeo directly. Those companies may then set their own cookies and will see your IP address. Their cookies are not ours; we can neither read nor delete them.

Changing your choice

At the foot of every page there is a Cookie settings link. Use it at any time to change or withdraw what you have allowed. Withdrawing permission is exactly as easy as giving it.
